Hydrogeological Drilling

PVC pipe installed into the ground, in accordance with Ontario’s Regulation 903, is used to isolate a water bearing formation with the purpose of determining the hydrostatic level of an aquifer – where water pressure meets atmospheric pressure or otherwise a water table. This is useful to determine the characteristics of the water table as well as ground water mapping.

Monitoring wells are also installed for monitoring the quality and behaviour of the water table. It can be sampled at anytime to investigate for contamination within the water table as well as the flow of the contamination.
